INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS

AS AN ENTREPRENEUR, WHAT HAS BEEN ONE OF YOUR BIGGEST AH-HAH MOMENTS?

The biggest ah-hah moment is that you have to be uniquely positioned.  You have to be offering something that nobody else is offering, and there’s only two ways to do that:  Number one - you can have a unique product or service, for example I am the only person in the world who teaches local TV publicity and how to get on local TV, I’m the only one and therefore I’ve got people coming from all over the world…coming to do my training in Hollywood because I’m the only person in the world who does it.  The other way to get unique positioning is fortunately or unfortunately…luckily for a lot of people it’s easier and that is to become a celebrity.  Go on TV and become a celebrity and by virtue of the fact that any celebrity is uniquely positioned as being somebody unique and special and different and better, that is another super powerful way, perhaps even more powerful to become uniquely positioned.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM YOUR FAILURES?

What I have learned form the failures is that your adversity becomes your advantage.  Every time I have had something fail or fall apart I’ve always come out stronger and made my business better.  So really there is no failure, there are only lessons.  Thomas Edison said, “I have not failed 10,000 times, I have learned 10,000 ways that the light bulb does not work.”  Your adversity becomes your advantage.

WHAT ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR?

I am so grateful for my wife.  My wife has really helped me step into my own fullness and become more than I otherwise would have been, and it’s because she believes in me and we have the same agenda.

WHO INSPIRES YOU?

I’m inspired by people that have their own television shows, people who have been able to create celebrity for themselves, like Donald Trump and Gordon Ramsey, Bobby Flay, Emeril Legasse, all those guys on Shark Tank.  If you’re able to become such a celebrity that you get to go on TV all the time…the sky is the limit for you.  You know who really inspires me?  Kim Kardashian.  That’s somebody who really inspires me because that’s the epitome of what Dan Kennedy talks about.

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE?

My biggest challenge is getting my message in front of the right people, because it is a very crowded marketplace.  There are some people out there who offer pseudo-versions of my products or inferior versions... and unfortunately people buy what's in front of them. You go to a seminar and regardless of how little credibility or no guarantees or [how] expensive an offer is, a lot of people will buy the offer...and stuff they should't buy, because they want to buy. People want to buy and what they end up buying is what's in front of them, what's offered to them. My biggest challenge is getting my offer in front of people before they accept some inferior offer.

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME AND VISIT YOURSELF PRIOR TO BECOMING AN ENTREPRENEUR, WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE THAT YOU WOULD GIVE YOURSELF?

I would say... hey man, you've invested 13 years of your life, give it another 18 months but do TV appearances. Become a celebrity instead of trying to become a movie star without being a celebrity first.
